The Ghost Plane of the Desert

Recommended Posts

Just watched this video just now on YouTube. Its amazing that the Liberator bomber just lay there for 16 years before being found and even more amazing that they found nearly all of the crew members bodies especially as they had all walked some miles from the crash site. Has anyone seen the full documentary or even better have a link for it?

cheers Callum

Ps the video below does show skeletal remains so if easily offended don't watch.thumbs.gif

One of the comments under the video said the same thing but the commentator couldn't remember the name of the film. I'm really surprised they found 8 of the 9 bodies, l would have thought they would have been covered by tonnes of sand in the duration that they lay there.

Very sad :(

I couldn't make out the text in the diaries. Did they bail out, or go down with the plane 'cos that's a heavy crash?

Looks like someone's found the plane before as some of the instruments appear to be missing from the cockpit.

Interesting find, Mangy
